A banda foi formada em Dublin, no ano de 1976.
O grupo é composto por Bono (vocalista e guitarrista), The Edge (guitarrista,
pianista e backing vocal), Adam Clayton (baixista), Larry Mullen Jr. (baterista).
Com mais de trinta anos de estrada, é uma das mais populares bandas de rock do
mundo desde a década de 80. Os seus concertos são únicos e um verdadeiro festival
de efeitos especiais.
Já ganharam 22 prêmios Grammy.
